    1. replacing the Harddrive is actually quite easy, but it does mean re-installing your whole system.
Make sure the new one is a laptop size, usually 2.5 inch, modern ones are SATA.
Whenever I do this, I go to the manufacturers website and get all of the latest drivers, Usually Dell or acer (both of these seem to update drivers regularly). I make a backup of these to an external Hard Drive, but a cd/ dvd would be ideal.
I then make sure everything is backed up.
And I make sure I have a copy of Windows and a windows key (usually printed on a label on the underside of the dell laptops.
Then you turn off the laptop, turn it over and remove the laptop cover, remove the laptop and put the new one in.
Then start up the laptop and install the operating system, this will take a couple of hours, then install all your drivers and updates etc...

Or, get an external Hard Drive and work from that??

    2. I'd personally stay away from the Aldi one, as these sellers tend to not update the on-line drivers, and this can have consequences with future programs and technology.
I have to admit I've used Dell for most of my Laptops and Laptop purchases. They update their drivers regularly and their support is quite good.
I have an Insprion 1501 on which I use photoshop, Office, downloading loads and video editing/ burning, and much more.
I haven't used Autocad in a couple of years, but get at least 2Gb of ram (4Gb as preference) and a decent processor and you should be ok there.

I bought a 1525 for a student recently and it looked better than my year old specs.

    Rgds,
