    Hi,

Anyone interested in playing Gaelic football and starting a ladies team? I saw signs for ranelagh gaels GAA club so I emailed asking if there is a ladies team and he said as of now there isn't but if a few people became interested that they'd set one up! I'm not up for anything serious but a kick around and some training would be great to start out!

lots of ladies teams around if you cant get the numbers up in Renlaigh - But good luck !

I would Join but I fear rampant sexism in the GAA would prevent me from playing

Ranelagh are quite a fledgling (sp) club so they may not have much by way of resources to assist you. Are you living in the Ranelagh area? St Judes in Templeogue and Ballyboden would probably be your nearest clubs

    Best of luck!

That surprises me, not many other sporting organisations in Ireland have clubs named after women or have ladies finals with attendances of between 25,000 and 30,000. How many other sports in Ireland have the stands as full with women as men. How many other sports in Ireland have women as integral part of running the grass roots male side of the organisation as the GAA while simultaneously dominating the female side. In fact Cumann Peil Gael na mBan is atonomous sister organisation of the GAA, yet are fully welcome to all facilities and aid of the GAA. Ladies football is strongly supported by the male members of the GAA and Gaelic Football and Hurling fans.

Not sexist in my opinion, only mine, sure if your not in You can't win. Come play Gaelic Football You might enjoy it
