Save your money, dont do anything, build up your NCB, buy a proper performance car

Or if your absolutely determined maybe an engine remap.

It would be a waste of money, save up for a different car your better off in the long run..

i understand that it may be better to buy a different car but lets just say i was determined- what are my options?

    engine remap
air filter and thats about it, will change the note of the car and might give you a small power increase but that's about it....

join this forum and ask the same question to the experts rather than ....

As Erebus said your very very very limited with a 1litre Ibiza, Air Filter, Cold Air Feed, Straight through Exhaust, Decat, even with all them your not gonna see more than about 5bhp, 10 if your lucky.

Lighter wheels and lower it maybe if you want to spend some money on it, engine mods on a 1litre are pointless no matter how determined you are

agreed as above dont bother yer arse modifying it. it will only up the insurance costs. and speaking about performance, remember theres no replacement for displacement, so doing anything to a 1 litre is pointless.

build up yer NCB, may be a pain but you gotta do it!

Eh, you do have insurance right? Because that's slightly worrying.

    Engine Swap? :p

Seriously, no - point - what - so - ever, no kits, no big bass sounds, neons, different lights, no quad exhausts please. No vtec badges, well, maybe just 1.

Save and wait, wait = ncb, then have fun :P

Edit: GET INSURED BEFORE HAVING FUN! and play safe, stay in school

Im sure you cod squeeze most VAG engines in there.

The problem is when you you try to get insured. Save your pennies and get something quicker in a few years time.

Its not what a young lad has in his mind but it really is the best option, I had a fiesta to start off with and wasted 2 grand on alloys and an exhaust system on it and it made no difference at all!

Traded it in for a Focus, never done anything to the Focus, just saved my money until I could get insured in an Integra Type R and went out and bought one.

Your getting sound advice in the previous replies to your post.
Dont spend money modding a deadend project.
Your car is perfect for getting started , build your experience and no claims bonus with it.
My advice would be to save the money you plan to use to mod your current car.
Have a look at what cars appeal to you in the performance end of the market and save what you need to buy your choice. Remember preformance upgrades aint cheap!
Get a car which has been built to preform. Not a "normal car" and then try to get power that just aint really there .
Examples for you could be starlet turbo, glanza, civic vti/ sir. lots more out there these are just a few id consider if i were in your shoes.
Youll have to think of insurance too of course. But do a bit of looking around at what suits your circumstances.
You ll find its a better way to go in the long run.
Hope that helps you and safe driving

yep your getting the right advice,..................but if you feel you want to do something with it dont throw your money at it, maybe lower it with springs, pick up some second hand wheels, change to an uprated drop-in filter and give your intake a cold air feed. these would be cheap maybe satisfy your need to mod but please dont go further than that just enjoy driving and build up your all important NCB (best mod ever!:D )

.....then if after all that you love the ibiza chassis then look into an engine upgrade from the VAG family.

enjoy man, and let us know wht you decide to do

    what he says.

rusty bucket -> More NCB+save money -> performance car

The worse thing, that moust of people get advice, but wount listen, and they learn the sad truth the hard and expencive way.

OP just dont touch it, and scrap it after 2 years.
