Time Machine error

    I can't back up! When I set Time Machine to back up, I got the message "Time Machine Error - Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup directory".

    I've trawled around online and found many reports of this but no solutions. Anyone got the magic touch?

    I got the same error over the weekend !!!

    In disk utilities I can mount the external drive .. but time machine won't see it !!

    I used to use SuperDuper - unless I find a solution fast, I'm wiping the drive and going back to using SuperDuper. What a nuisance.
