Durability of DHB road shoes -anyone have experience?

Anyone on here happen to have the DHB R1 road shoe?

I have a pair of Shimano MT31s for commuting, but I was thinking about getting a second (cheap) pair for any potential fixie/singlespeed racing/spins.

All the reviews sing the praises of the dhb shoes. While I have plenty of dhb gear, it wouldn't be subject to the same wear and tear as the shoes might be and the reviews don't go as far as long term durability.

The shimanos are fine, a little heavy for my liking and I don't fancy going for lycra clad spins wearing chunky mountain-man boots.

    Thanks!

I've a pair of the db1 shoes. Only had them a week but they are showing a few small marks on the sole. Nothing major but I can see the rubber end bits coming apart with use. How much I can't say just yet.
I think they are more of a summer shoe as they are full of air vents.

    Thanks for that Ryaner.

I think I will take a punt on them, I would only be using them as a kind of backup shoe so they won't be seeing a huge amount of action. I just didn't want them to fall apart while on the pedals, the odd scuff from walking around in them seems to happen to all shoes, the tips of my sidis are pretty much ruined at this stage.

I got a pair last October. Wear them every day on my 30km commute 5 days a week and can't fault them. Although I wear over shoes all the time my feet are never cold. I have to disagree with the last poster saying that they're a summer shoe. I have a pair of Sidi Genuis 5's and they're a summer shoe. Have to say I'm delighted with them and the overshoes keep them nice and clean.

My only nit-pikky thing with them is that they dont have a replaceable heel.

They are by first real cycling shoe but they don't stop the wind at all. My feet were numb after 30 minutes on Saturday!
