That's pretty funky so, the receiver alone is worth it.

Usually if you flag down a rep in power city and tell them the online price they will do you a deal, otherwise just buy it online and pick up in store.

With this product, how will I set it up to my sky hd and blu-ray player?
Do I connect directly via hdmi? If so, how does my tv receive picture signal? Im a little confused!

    You run

SkyHD -> Receiver via HDMI cable
Blu-yay -> Receiver via HDMI cable

Receiver -> TV via HDMI cable

The picture is passed through the receiver from the output you choose to your TV.

    The owners manual is here...

This gear (RXV363 Receiver and NSP110 Speakers) can be got seperately for £120 and £60 respectively from Richer Sounds - they might also carry it as the AV 63 package but I didnt look too closely. Generally anything on the Richersounds.co.uk website, RS Ireland will be able to get and they're very competitive in terms of delivery (they're based in Belfast). They're also on the commercial section of these forums. £180 = Eur200 at the mo, even if postage was 15-20 you're saving another 50 euro.

Richersounds if you can wait for delivery, or powercity if you can't then :D

I would be buying if i did not now have to keep an eye on money... stupid recension.

Besides, i have a 5.1 philips system (built in to DVD player) which does just fine for now, it just has no optical input so i get little benefit watching blu-ray on the ps3.

does optical input from say bluray to 5.1 system mean you get the full 5,1 sound coming out?

Audio also needs to be routed from the Sky+ and Bluray box by optical or co-ax to the amp. Don't think that the amp is HDMI 1.3 so audio won't go over the HDMI.

See table - "HDMI Audio". Confirms that the HDMI won't carry audio through (ie pre - v1.3).

Thanks for the info, would the below cables be the correct ones to purchase to transfer the sound from Shy HD & blu-ray player (i.e. id need 2 cables)

Got one of these last week from Power City. Well worth the money, and the sound beats any other package in the price range. The HDMI doesnt carry audio, so you will have to use the Optical or Coax inputs to get sound from your DVD/Console. Its got a nice little mic gadget to help you set up the best sound levels for your room.

Was there any optical cables in the box?

No no. No optical cables. Just the usual poor quality speaker cable.

I got one of these. Sending it back as my subwoofer wont make a sound with it. Unless anyone here has any ideas.

Ive tried every option i can find and it wont make a sound. Completly silent even in the test mode. All of the other speakers seem to work.

Ive tested the subwoofer on a friends system and it works fine on his. The subwoofer doesnt have its own power source. Passive i think its called.

    Really at my wits end.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The Sub does indeed have a power source. Its called Active. My one has its own plug. So if you plug in the Sub it should work.

    But is it many good?
That's pretty funky so, the receiver alone is worth it.

    Edit:

Ah, pre v1.3, I'll be giving it a miss then.

Sorry, meant to say that i have the RXV363 amp
Im using my own speakers that i had with a previous system that died about a year ago. There is no plug on it, just the 2 points to connect the cable.

Ah well if it is a passive sub I think that it wont work with the RXV363. I could be wrong but I suspect that the sub has to be active, as that is the output it has.

    Thanks guys.
Now i just have to figure out if the amp is broken or not, as ive only 7 days to send it back for full refund if it is (i dont really want it repaired as its supposed to be new.)

Is there any way to test it without having an active subwoofer?

I dont know about that, as regards the test. You can always send it back, get a refund, and then buy the whole package from Power City!

good value for amp and speakers - but a very heavy box!

have it connected via optical to my sky hd and panasonic blu ray, both sound fabulous through it, also very easy to setup

It defaults DVD as co-ax input, however easy to change this to second optical
