Work advice - Asking for money for P-T course?

Considering the current economic climate Irealise how lucky I am to have a job and understand that lots of people have real problems but I am looking for some advice.

I have been working with a company since last August and my job is safe and they are great employers etc, but I am planning on enrolling for a part-time masters course in April that starts next Sept. I know the company sets aside a fund each year for staff to further their studies and it is seldom used. I think it would be very cheeky to ask my employers to part-subsidise this course and would be more than happy to try and fund it myself. The course is somewhat related to my job and everyone is telling me to ask them. Does anyone have any advice?

What's the worst that can happen? They say "no".

Seem as they have a fund there, it seems silly not to enquire - especially when it's job related!

ok if its work related then go for it ASAP.
It looks like you are career driven and after it they usually look favourably on you because you had shown you can commit yourself and also that you might be looking around so often they come up with a bonus of some discription. I warn you though - its a slog and you gotta pay it all back it you don't complete!:(
