Hamilton 24hr access

    What, exactly, is the deal with swipe-card access to the Hamilton? On no occasion this year has my card worked, nor have I seen someone else's card working. Has access now been restricted to staff-card holders or something?

    The card controllers in the ORI/HAM are acting up big time. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't. I tend to then try the door halfway up the hamilton (by the security desk, rather than the one next to the SU shop), and after a few attempts it sometimes works (or you can just force it open occasionally too. I agree it's a farce, but I do believe they are trying to resolve it.

    We were told that the system is in need of a complete over-haul, but because it'd be such a big operation they can't do it until the summer.

    My card works everywhere I have tried (incl door next to shop at hamilton), except for ICT lab2

    Yea I have noticed that at the weekends you have to go up to the security desk entrance to get in.

    I managed to get in that door today, about half hour ago infact. Couldn't get in the main doors to ham though. A bit ridiculous, has to be said.

    I had to use that door yesterday. About a hour later I went for for luch and when I came back my card wouldnt let me in any door.
