Anyone have any news on a release date? I've spent an hour looking online and all I can find are the mock ups from 2007.

true, i would go with the 6mm as i've heard the 8mm version has issues :(

    Yeah, same as.
I only ever saw one Irish retailer stocking the 6mm version, but said the poor reputation of the 8mm was hurting the sales.

I'd like one for the gimmick factor, to carry it with the p90, but I remember holding the 57 and it had a really horrible 'toymaster-ish' feel.
Like a ****ty springer with a metal mag.

I'd definatly say, try before you buy.

The reason I was asking about the TM one is I was offered a Maruzen, but it felt like a 5 euro pos.

Well, the Marui one would be plastic too (not just because of the Japanese law) but because the real one is plastic so I don't think Marui quality will save the cheap feel of it.

And if I'm right, Maruzen aren't half bad either.

I've held the Real Steel (well real composit bodied one) and the Maruzen, feels really really plasticy, the sort you'd get from dodgy stall or newsagents. Was very dissappointed because I wanted one forever like!

I'd love to try the Marui one but I wouldn't buy it without trying it first.

They need to give it at least 20 bbs, a la real steel.

There are quality plastics out there, if anyone should be able to do plastic, its TM.

Saying that, I dont even like polymer framed pistols, let alone a full plastic one.

Well there ya are, that seems to sum up the general public opinion on plastic pistols.
Though everything I read from people using Marui pistols is very good.
Can they be that good that their users can see past the plastic element?

They can be, i've got a fair few pistols and for some reason i seem to supply thme to team mates and without fail the only one that hasn't fecked up yet is the TM Glock 17, solid piece of kit, so much so that if they released the 57 i'd buy it in a second
