Anyone else having any problems with the reception on sky ?

we got a brand new box and we had an engineer out replacing it and all.
she said the signal was 100% and she gave us a brand new box.
its on both of our boxes so there has to be something there.

There isnt a day that goes by that I dont a call about a Sky+ Box freezing. Best option is to turn down the instant rewind function to about 5mins.

    Do this by pressing Services
    Press option 5. SKY+ Setup
turn down time on instant rewind.

Other things that can cause box to freeze is if you have too much content stored on your Hard-Drive so if so free up some space.

Finally after a while the drive gets all cluttered with missing sectors etc, so you can preform whats known as Housekeeping.

    To do this
    Press Services
    Press 4
Press 0, 1 Select to enter secret Menu
Press option 7 for housekeeping (Will Keep all your recordings)

Or option 8 to re-format your drive....

I would recommend turning off the Auto Rewind. Anything that involves permanent disk writing cant be good for the disk in the long or medium term. You can always push record at the beginning of a show you are watching if you want to be able to go back.
