    Hi All,
I am doing a 2 years part time masters (part sponsored by my boss) and i hate it. to say it is not what well organised, interesting or full of like minded people is an understatement. I am in the second year and the self directed learning / project (thesis) element looms and i have done nothing. I just can't find my mojo. there were far more assignments and classes (2 nights a week) last year and i could plough through but now i find myself seriously wanting to drop out. Deferring is not an option and if i drop out i have to pay back the employer their %.

what do you do to motivate yourself to do x, y, z in your course?
    is it only me?

If they told me they had to pull all my hair out right now instead of doing this thesis i would say great work away!:(

I was in exactly the same boat, the first year and a half were fine, ploughed through the classes exams and assignments, then last semister, oh it was awful, self directed and distance learning, like you, I lost the motivation, I did not have the pressure of going back in next week and having to have it done, the only thing that worked was having another class mate motivate me and I motivate her, we sent each other our work for opinions, and set deadlines to do this, its the only way, working while doing the course is so difficult, but after putting this much work into it, keep going it will be worth it, also pick a topic you are intereted in for your thesis, otherwise its like pulling teeth, also keep in contact with your supervisor.

    Good Luck
