The accord does not have a jack to plug in an MP3 player and, unlike my old Civic, the CD player will not play Mp3 files. Is anybody using an MP3 player with this car and how are you getting the sould to the car entertainment system. I've tried two FM transitters, but both were rubbish.

    Any suggestions appreciated

I bought one a while ago. Its an OEM converter box add-on that you plug into the cd changer port. Theyre pretty hard to find.. I got a local auto electrician to get one. They sometimes show up on ebay. (~€100 ex labour) It's Honda fitment for ipod by the way, works a treat, you can control the ipod from the radio itself.

I agree those iTrip or whatever you call them transmitters are rubbish.

Have this one in my accord:

    Plus

    http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=35MMRCA

Check out the links on the bottom of the page for different options.

You'll need to get your honda dealer / radio workshop to put this in.

I have two customers who are using this in their Accords with iPod:

This one is handy if you want to use an USB stick,SD card etc.:

Thanks for the replies everybody. Gibbon, your top option looks just like what I'm lookin for.

Is it easy to access the back of the CD player in a 2008 Accord or will I have to get it installed by my dealer?

    Thanks again.

I bought mp3 player for my Accord from www.xcarlink.co.uk

it works great, sound is clear and I can choose if I want to connect mp3 player, sd card or usb flash memory.

As far as I know Honda radio recognize mp3 player as d changer as long as there are no more than 9 folders with no more than 99mp3's in each folder.

I did everything myself - it took me about 40 minutes. It is quite easy to remove all plastics, 6 screws, etc etc.
Just remember to be patient and do everything slowly- otherwise plastic clips can be easily damaged.

Since all you guys are Accord drivers (mainly), what are they like as a car? My old lad thinking of buying the new diesel one.

    Thanks

These CD changer / Aux in adapters are very expensive for what you get.

The head units were never designed to interface with iPods so their functionality in terms of accessing playists etc is woeful.

For about the same cost as some of these adapters, you can get a complete head unit (£69.99), including iPod interface cable, that will provide much better iPod control, as well as allow general USB and aux inputs.

Yes,but in the Accord the AC and fan controls share the LCD screen with the radio/CD player.

Those options all negate the use of the CD Changer though, don't they ?

Is there any way of having a splitter to allow both ?
