so theres a lot of talk about the mathematical possibility of somebody overtaking tiger at number 1 over the coming weeks if they can get off to a flyer in 09.

the names being mentioned are garcia, mickelson and harrington. does anyone reckon he can pull this off and take yet another accolade from under the nose of garcia?

i for one hope he does! this is the best chance anyone is going to have for the forseable future to get to number 1 if only for a short time. any thoughts?

Hopefully he will. What will he need to do to have a shot?

Hi all my first post always meant to get started.

I think Harrington has a great chance to get to number 1 position hard to believe he won 3 major's in less than 2 years.

Lets cross our fingers and hope he can deliver a bit more magic.

If every tournament he played was a major, I think he'd be number 1. I still don't think he has the mentality to win week in week out like Woods, Garcia or Mickelson.

He's like the opposite of Garcia and needs to work on his mentality for winning the bread and butter tournaments
