well it could be due to the fact one of them is tokyo marui ands the other is china made, and will take a month 2 get delivered.

which one would take a month to get dilverd? and for that price is it not worth it?

this is like 28 euro and freeshiping aswell. so...how come its cheaper, holds alot more rounds and auto winds? is it because it will drain the battery really fast or what? or is ireland just a rip off? :P

A few reasons, as Shblob said...

    1) The Cork Airsoft one is Tokyon Marui, a high end manufacturer, with high quality guaranteed. The other is a cheaper Chinese made brand.

    2) Ebaybanned are located in China, so they dont have astronomical shipping costs to get the items from the factory to their warehouse, the way Cork Airsoft and all the other Irish retailers do, so they can afford to have lower prices.

    3) As well as the astronomical shipping fees, Cork Airsoft have to pay VAT and import duty to get their stock, and that has to be factored in to the price.

    4) If you buy from any of the Asian sites, there's a very high probability you'll get hit by VAT and import duty yourself when the goods are delivered, so you'll cancel out a lot of the price difference.

    5) Ireland has a way higher cost of living than China, with higher taxes, wages, costs and prices generally.

    6) If you buy it from Cork Airsoft and have a problem with it, you can return it to them relativey inexpensively, or even for free - good luck doing that with an Asian retailer.

The 3000 round c-mag might take more than a month unless you are willing to pay 20-30 Euros for UPS, etc. I would suggest the Dboys 300 round mag if you are looking for cheap ones which can be bought for 15 Euros instead of the Tokyo Marui one might be of better quality.

Edit - Damn! Shiva said it first and in more detail.

Ebaybanned send everything by regular post, so they take ages to get here. And thats only once they actually ship it - they can be very slow to actually put the items in the post. Having said that, they are usually reliable, if slow.

As to whether its worth it - only you can decide that.

If your team requires high-caps, then why bother with a C-mag since you're required to have high-caps?

I orderd them before i got in contact with my team

Team requires you to have high caps? That's a bit odd.
I can See why certain teams might prefer mid caps but really it's a personal choice?

You're comparing box-mags and high caps to a guy who wears gloves and sunglasses in a night club and has quite serious problems with potency?

Actually yeah, I can see that connection.

Yes its nice firepower, but its completely unfair. If you want a gun with 3000 rounds get a support weapon and take the weight that comes along with it. And most people get into airsoft for the milsim factor. And 3000 rounds in an M4 isn't very realistic. They also rattle like hell and give away your position.

That being said I don't want to seem like an a$$hole. It's up to you what you buy and I personally won't hold it against you ;).

When I first started airsoft I was like what moron would buy mid/lo/real-caps when hi-caps are available. But now I'm searching everywhere for mid-caps for my UMP but I can only find hi-caps :(.

At the risk of sounding religious maybe one day you too will see the light of mid-caps :P.

the only reason i have taken a break from my g3 is that there are no decent midacaps available...

the only reason i use midcaps is i love the shock of having to reload while being shot at lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Real caps are a religion, low caps are a belief, mid caps are just sensible.

Seriously though, high caps are rattly gits and they give more trouble than they're worth in the long run due to all the moving parts and the magazine being one of the most abused things on your rifle. That said, noone's going to care if you're using them, it's personal choice. It's the box mags on assault rifles people (including myself) have issues with from a fair play point of view. I'm probably the most outspoken against their use in that fashion, but even I wouldn't presume to stop someone from using them in a game, especially if that's all they had.
It's personal choice and taste, but I've found that most people eventually migrate toward mid caps in the end.
