KPMG in the Uk are proposing 4 day week for employees and/or sabbatical leave of 1 to 4 months on 30% pay.They have not ruled out redundancies in the future if these moves are not successful ! How safe are accountants in the big 4 in Ireland now ? :eek:

About as safe as everyone else in the economy. Financial Services is particularly vulnerable with the amount of investment funds closing, the backbone of F.S practices. Id say we will see something similar here soon too. I know myself that some qualified seniors are being let go in the big four.

Its hard to see how they will maintain the same staff numbers with so many employed in F.S practices and that sector doing so badly.
