In terms of cultural education I think it's more important to spend a greater amount of time in fewer places than a smaller amount of time an a greater amount of places.

Landing in a city and falling in to the inevitable tourist traps is not really a genuine experience imo, since they are all geared towards the tourist market.

Spending 2 weeks on the Aran Islands would probably be more rewarding in terms of cultural education than spending 2 weeks interrailing around the major European cities, spending a night in each.

    43. Everyone loves a gloater. If you want to improve your total, just get on a bus some morning in the Balkans and you'll have added another six or seven by nightfall.

I won't list them all, but I'm confident nobody else here has been to Honduras, without doubt the most boring republic in the world.
