I'd like some feedback on my writing please!

Hey guys,

I've started a blog recently and I'm really enjoying writing new stuff for it all the time. There is no specific theme, it just a place for me to write about ransom things I have opinions on etc. I've always wanted to give writing a go, but always felt my actual style, was lacking. However I've always felt like somewhere inside me there was a little bit of creative talent trying to break through, it just needs a little encouragement...

So I'm hoping a few of you guys who are more experienced could take a quick gander at the blog in my sig (1st link) and let me know if you like it, or if you'd have some constructive criticism for me.

Great blog presentation and detail is super well done!
Perhaps bear in mind that the first paragraph must be engaging. Also noticed repeation of pronouns and unesicary words.

Your blog is just filled with editorials. Hardly what I think of when I see the words "creative writing".

I never said it was creative writing - its not - but I thought this forum might be a good place to put my post. I could have put it in the Blogging forum, but that focuses less on the writing and more on the technology behind it.

Without wanting to be glib, if your stuff is definitely not creative writing, the one place it does not belong is the creative writing forum. Creative and editorial writing are two entirely different styles.

If you want commentary on specific articles you have written, then maybe post a thread on in one of the forums about the same topic (i.e., ask for comments on your Obama blog entry in a politics forum).

Zascar - your writing has a good punchy feel to it. Most blogs are ponderous me-fests.

As for your writing - I like it; the presentation of both imagery and word works well. It's not overly wordy, which is essential for a blog, and it's fast-flowing and interesting.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm delighted (don't worry I don't pay attention to gimps)... If there is any constructive criticism you can give me would be appreciated. I sometimes think that I can waffle a bit, but I like to make sure to tell the whole story - or explain my full opinion on a situation etc. Very large blog posts can put people off and they just won't read it - but then again, leave out detail or important facts etc - and your message gets diluted...

If anyone wants to subscribe or leave me comments that would be cool

Hi Zascar, I liked it, dont have time to go through it to give specific feedback but I read a good five entries before clicking off it so you did something right in keeping my (tiny spanned) attention!
