Salary Question

    A quick query. If someone was to earn 2950 net salary pm, what would their monthly gross need to be (this is assuming normal PAYE and PRSI). I must admit, my accounting is too rusty in teh tax area to do correctly, but I reckon it's €48-€50k?

    46000 per annum


    Monthly take home pay. (Single)

    Gross Take Home Pay = € 3833.33
    Tax = € 668.00
    Take Home Pay after Tax = € 3165.33
    Less PRSI = € 207.99
    Net take home pay = € 2957.35

    Not to question your calculations, but how sure are you that you're correct (if someone else could clarify that would be great) as currently my friend is getting a mixture of legit pay, and "cash in hand" giving a monnthly slary of c.2950, and wants to know what the actual salary would ned to be to earn that much net through PAYE proper?

    Just want to make sure I'm correct in advising!
