I've heard that Dave Keating in charleville is good, Also the pro in ardagh golf club, Newcastle West, Conor McCormack is very good I find. Its only about 25mins from charleville but if travelling from near the city might be a bit much, Also, do you know a good driving range in cork city. In college in ucc and would love to practice in the evenings. Preferbly not too far from ucc if you know of any.

try the fota academy for lessons

i presume you have a motor for going to range
easiest to get to would probably inniscarra then blarney
both about 10-15 mins 6-7miles from ucc gates

also as far as i know there is a pro from lee valley doing lessons in inniscarra

Cheers for the tip soundsham, looked up the fota brochure and looks like its worth a look.

Codofwar, u should try Frankfield driving range, bout 2 miles from ucc, good set up, mats during winter and good grassed area during the summer, 9 euro for 120 range balls i think, i head up there a bit and have no complaints

    hey
Played fota once and saw the golf academy but didnt take that much notice. Wouldnt mind checking it out myself for a couple of lessons. Anyone ever get lessons in fota. What was it like in terms of time, teacher, price and general impression of the place.

By the way the car in the middle of the range in inniscarra is worth a look and lot of rabbits will be hanging around the middle of the range with balls raining down on them. Funny but maybe you have to see it:D

If you're looking to get serious the only guy in cork worht talking about is fred twomey, munster coach, involved with the irish youths etc. Only top top class coach in cork. He opperates out of blarney driving range.

went to him for a few lessons top guy

but as far as i know he had an accident last year and i don't think he's back to work yet so make a call 1st but spot on you will not have a better coach if he is available

He did but hes back in action now again. Defo get onto him if you want to get low. He really is top class, deals with a few of the young pros as well in the munster area.

Cheers jimboddb, sound like my starting point, give blarney a call and see how it goes, would like to hear more about the set up in fota too like Jimmyatars was asking?

Frankfield prob a stretch at 2 miles from ucc, more like 3 i'd say, worth the trip though;)

Brian moriarty is excellent. I went for 4 lessons with him now down to 8 handicapper. Keeps things very simple. Would recommend him highly.

Got a few lessons with Wayne there couple months ago and found him good. I'm a complete beginner & he explained things pretty well. He's got trackman there & I thought seeing my swing analysis, stats etc was useful.
