So frustrating....wintered well and was cranking up the training when pop! first shin splints on left shin and then pain on forefoot and mid foot of heel.Cant do fast track work at all...am i best of just sticking to the gym for a week and letting it rest.Only exercise anyone has advised(sports therapist) is rolling a golf ball along affected area to massage it.

Any speed merchants got any advice??

oh and i meant Pain...not Pin!!!

Usually advice on these ranges from

    a) make a bread poltice with beetroot and the stings from the first wasps of spring. Soak foot in this for 2-3 hrs a day while reciting a few decades of the rosary.

    to

    b) find a good physio who will not only get rid of the problem but probably discover why you got it in the first place.

I usually go with option b. In the long run injuries don't usually go away. If option b doesn't work then try option a.

I'm guessing you know what I'm getting at:D
