Just finished Season 1 the other night. Thinking back about it, I thought it was quite sexist in some ways. Nearly every female character is either weak and helpless or has been compromised to work for the terrorists.

I guess the only strong female character would be Kim, who seemed to keep a good fighting spirit up 'til the end. The wife was also quite strong but from the point where she got amnesia, she turned in to a sobbing mess of nerves for the last few episodes.

Jamie was the first unrooted 'mole' who was bought by the terrorists.

The Palmer daughter was a victim from the start, and her last significant scene was when she broke down in tears as her family argued around her.

As for Shelly, her true character came out in the end as she was shown to be a twisted power monger.

And finally Nina, the one reliable female character turned out to work for the Drazens.

For a show with a lot of female characters, and for all but one of them to be shown as weak and impressionable by the end, it didn't really paint a good picture for the wimminz.

While on the other hand, the story hinted the viewer to be suspicious of some of the male characters, but who all in the end turned out to be of true character.
