Apologies if this has nothing to do with Security but I have a feeling it does. But I found the object below on my road a while back and have been looking for answers for ages. Some people from Sydney - New York have found these and don't know what they are. Anybody know ?

its like a tracker device... wierd... could be off a cars gps, some transport businesses like to track their lorrys...

but it wouldnt have transmission power, only really short distance, like something youd inplant in a dog for scanning owner ID... em in guessing toll bridge pass card or something like that?

If you really curious, buy a RFID Reader and see what comes up.
