currently available for €999 in the Soundstore in Cork

    SONY 40" LCD TV (KDL-40W4000) €1,121.00
available for €1050 Sony Centre Cork, €1099 Soundstore

    SONY 40" LCD TV (KDL-40V4000) €909.00
available for approx €850 in Sound Store/Argos/Sony Centre

Retail is much better value than it used to be...

Their prices for the new Panasonic Plasmas are insane! They are a lot more expensive than the bricks and mortor stores.

EG: Panasonic 42G10 is just under €1700 on Irish LCD, and is just under €1300 in Alliance Electric.

Panasonic 42X10 is €998 at Irish LCD which is about the same as Bricks and Mortor stores (€929 in Alliance, cheaper still in Power City). I recon they made a mistake on the G10. However, with those prices, there is no advantage to going with them. They should be cheaper than B&M stores.

The 42" G10 is a much more realistic €1,142 now. That's actually quite a good price, haven't seen it cheaper in any other Irish store.

This has run it's course, complete with somewhat suspect plugs.... I'm locking this and would prefer not to see threads with the names of companies in the title again... Thanks.
