I have got an ipod which use to work with me old computer. However i bought a laptop but when i plug my ipod in it dosent appear in my computer or anywhere. I lost the cd for driver that came with it originally. Do i need a new driver to get it work and can i download this from the internet for free?

    Thanks in advance

Did you install iTunes? If so, does it show up in iTunes at all?

I'm assuming you're on Windows, if so does it show up on device manager (my computer -> right click, properties -> hardware)?

The solution may just be to restore the iPod, but that'll mean loosing all your music (unless it's backed up)

I'm at a loss really. The problem you have is that iPods don't have drivers. They're recognised as external USB drives by computers. They have a funky way of keeping files, which is why you can't just copy files off the iPod, but essentially Apple made it so that there are no drivers (less hassle, you need iTunes etc.)
