Is it easy to change the office where you collect the dole? i collect it in dublin city but i usually visit my mother on wednesdays and it would be handy to collect it near her? do i just ring?

also, i have been offered one days work tomorrow (:)). should i ring the SW office and tell them or will they know from my PPS? i get e204 social welfare a week so will the one days work bring it down a lot?

Its handy enough to get your post office changed, only thing is they wont pay it outside the area that the social welfare office deal with. The payment stays in the post office for a few days anyway so you could just wait until the following day to collect your payment!

Your better off letting them know about the days work, if you dont the tax office will inform them in the next few months and it could be seen as fraud and an overpayment for you!

If your getting Benefit, theyll just stop one days payment on you, about €35. If your getting Assistance, itll be the same, but they might means test you for the days work as well!

Just ring up, can be sorted over the phone, or call into them!
