Just wondering if anybody works or has worked for Topshop. I'm looking for retail work at the moment and I was hoping someone would have some tips on what they would be looking for in a CV. Any advice welcome!

Depending on what level of position you are trying to obtain, you will need to ensure your cv conveys the following skills (pretty closely in this order):
    1. customer service
    2. 'passion for fashion', including ability to put outfits together
    3. sales - a big part of retail sales, is using 'add on sales' to increase the value of a sale and generally 'add on sales' have a greater profit margin - if you cannot tie this into your cv, be sure to talk about it at interview stage
    4. teamwork
    5. merchandising and display skills
    6. cash management experience
    7. stock control

Even if you don't have retail experience, identify any of the skills above that you have from other types of jobs. I think that many people use a cv to display just what they have done in the past, but ultimately an employer wants to know if you have the potential to do their job - so work your interests, hobbies and any work into the above skills. Good luck!
