    Jackie Chan has been cast to star as Mr. Miyage and Will Smith's son Jade to play Daniel. I can't see it being too great. The original was cool because of it's 80's style. Best left alone I reckon although I'd be interested to see what they make of it.

    Why?? The karate kid is a perfect movie, there is no need to remake. The sh*ttyness of the movie makes it so darn good. Now we are gonna see this hollywooded to the max and destroy the legacy of the karate kid....even parts III and IV could do this!

    Itll be absolutely awful!! The original was good because it wasnt done as a kiddy type movie, it was done seriously.

    Watched it over Christmas on the box. Was surprised about how good it still was, except for the tunes, mullets and Ralph's acting.
