Shamelessly stolen from /g/ and cleaned up a bit. It made me laugh

June 2009: Death of Steve Jobs mourned by Apple fans everywhere. Millions of iPods are burned in mourning funeral pyres.

July 2009: OSX Snow-Leopard announced for general release on all X-86 platforms. Sales number in the thousands.

June 2010: Apple files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

July 2010: Macfans need a non-windows OS, because Windows just isn't shiny enough for them. Gnome/Ubuntu use explodes.

June 2011: The Year of the Linux Desktop.

July 2011: Windows for Linux released for Ubuntu 11.04 LTS. The only window manager fully compatible with the Windows API and X windowing system. GPLv4 provisions skirted by creative finagling and cross-compatibility agreements with Canonical/Red-hat/Novell. Cost's 1/3 of a full Windows OS. Sales number in the billions. Windows NT architecture relegated to legacy systems. Winnux becomes the new world standard Operating system.

June 2012: Windows XP users hang on desperately to their OS. Linux vendors finally assimilated within the Microsoft conglomerate. Betrayed Linux-fans migrate to Hurd, which is finally completed, stable and ready for productive use.

    July 2012: World ends.
