Voice over's for ads

does this annoy anyone else. esp on RTE when there doing a trailer for a movie or whatever those stupid accents / voices they put on. normally its that liam mccormack from ttv i think. fckin drives me crazy.

It's annoying when they try to put on an American accent which they do a lot of the time.

The main voice over artist in TV3 sounds really bored. And then he finish by trying to sound interested ...... Up next on TV3!

All voice over artists have speech impediments, they work really hard to get rid of them, just for those couple of minutes. You might think it is easy but for them its ..... its..... difficult.

Watching Eli Stone tonight on Rte 2, and that TTV chap voiced 8 ads in the hour (4 in one break.) each more uncomfortable to listen to than the last. The "One Hour Photo" movie one was practically normally voiced with only a hint of a transatlantic twang, but the Project Ha Ha one was awful, and the Voice used in the Nitelive promo was nails-on-blackboard level annoying.

Isn't there anyone else who can do these promos?

oh ya this is unbearable, hes annoying enough without putting on that stupid voice. aaaarrrghhghhhhh

For years Alan Stanford has been voicing plummy voiced men on radio ads - I cannot stand him - never buy the product/use the service he advertises.
And has Doireann Ni bhrian got the franchise for serious, "intelligent" woman type voiceovers? I could do that and better.

I like Alan Stanford's voicing work. Is Doireann the lady do does the Suil Eile adds for TG4 on the radio?

But in relation to the OP and liam mccormack, I hadn't noticed that he did so many he seems to be everywhere at the moment. Dreadful.

Bring back Thelma Mansfield.
