There are a number of topic's about it coming back on tv on some of the uk forums and it seems that it will be a totally different format from last years which is a pity.

It was nice to watch it last season as a snow/ mountain lifestyle type of programme instead of just a sports show featuring only downhill and slalom(sp) which at the end of the day eurosport cover quite well as it is. Only time will tell I suppose whether they have altered it too much.

Seems that they are splitting it into two seperate programs with the old style race coverage in one half, and the mountain craziness, lifestyle, do something daft type stuff in another program.
Ski Sunday returns at 1710 GMT on 18 January and High Altitude starts a week later at 2200 GMT on 25 January.

Yeah I was thinking it'd be annoying if you'd set the video to record using those numbers... video plus or whatever.

Usually you can set the yoke to record to 2 hours starting at whatever time. That might be your best bet for next time as ski sunday is always getting switched around.

See that a few guys tried and failed to do what Bode did last year and ski the netting to get a second place finish. Don't think I'll be giving the Hahnenkamm a go anytime soon though as they all looked to be fairly out of control on the way down.

Edit: Wasn't the "bar" they were sat in in Austria this week the same one that they were in last week in Switzerland?

So did anybody else see this weeks episode of High Altitude?

They didn't have any other "celbrity" guests joining them this week but it was probably sensible considering what they were up to. Which would you be more inclined to do if you had to choose one?

90mph headfirst down a bob track laying on a tea tray and only a bit of lycra to protect you
    OR
200kph down a 50+ degree mountain, wearing a silly helmet?

Personally I'd have thought the luge/skeleton/whatever option to be the preferable one in terms of survivability if you came a cropper to be honest. BTW I saw a program once where someone was cycling (yes, you read it right, cycling!) down that same slope in the snow trying to break some speed record or the other.

I thought Sundays show was awesome. Both events looked great. It's a great show. I think their expressions of fear and elation said it all really - especially Ed.

Was Ski Sunday on last weekend? I checked at 5:00 and it wasn't on the schedule.

I just now caught up with watching the the Bobsleigh Challenge which was on yesterday I think. They had Dean Macey (decathlete), Jason Gardener (sprinter), Dan Luger (rugby union) and Craig MacLean (track cycling) attempting to take part in the British Bobsleigh Championships after only 10 days worth of training. There was some real expressions of fear on the faces just before they went down the proper bob track for the first time, swiftly followed by looks of joy at having survived it which I can relate to having had a go at the bobsleigh a couple of years ago.

 to :D in 60 seconds.

This is me going going in a foam bob without a driver:

I did go down sat in the middle of a proper one after that, but I couldn't hold my head upright in that, let alone a camera.

I'd agree with the luge/ bob/ skeleton probably being the more survivable high speed way down the mountain though.
