    Thanks for this.
Seems very cheap.Has anyone ordered off that site before? If so what do they think of it?

Yeah, I ordered a 16gb CF card from them before for about 25 euro (another awesome bargain).

No problems what so ever, know a few people who've bought from them with no problems.

    Two key things.
Can the backlight be turned off on the clock display? Dont want the room lit it all night long.
Also how long is the snooze function? Much prefer 5 mins to 9 mins.

Guess ill go and see if there is a manual for this before buying

    They are gits for that.

Even though things are said to be in stock when ordered they may not be and they never tell you and leaves the order status pending for ages.
I have had this happen many many times with them and have had arguments with them about it. Most times after the order is placed can be over a week until it is sent and then delivery is usually a week to two weeks - if sent on a monday i wouldnt expected it the same week, would be following mid week.

£20.98 delivered to Ireland. So its quiet a good bit more and kinda takes the bargain effect out of it

EDIT: I just ordered off mymemory.co.uk there and after purchasing it offers a £10 off your next purchase offer. When I clicked on it, a browser window opened up that Mozilla deemed to be unsafe. It might be harmless but just a warning. Otherwise it all seemed fine

There is a review of the docking station here. (youtube) Yes the backlight can be fully turned off and comes on when the alarm comes on.

I think £10 off next offer is a site that you give your credit card details to to join some money off site thing. I can't recall what site it popped up on after I ordered but suffice to say its well dodgey and suspect.

Play.com have it for £18 and are claiming free delivery too. Don't now if that applies to Ireland. Their conversion rate isn't the best [£18 = €23?]

    Edit:
At Play.com delivery is free on everything both in the UK and outside the UK.
    Might pick one up then.

AFAIK play.com don't deliver electronics to Ireland?

Plus why buy it for 23 euro when 15 pound on mymemory converts to about 17 euro?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

My mistake, I thought this "£20.98 delivered to Ireland" was referring to mymemory. Anyway, you can always pay in sterling and get the bank/paypal to convert it to euro. But if Play don't deliver to Ireland then please disregard.

Total price from mymemory is €18.25 - according to my PayPal account!

Did anyone pick one of these up? My friend got me one in his nearest Power City (last one, the display model - €17), but he reports that the speaker volume is very low, less than that of his laptop.. anyone else reporting similar issues, or is it a faulty set?

I got mine today. It's definitely worth the money, sounds very good and looks nice too.

Received my order today from them. I purchased the ipod/dock alarm clock and a 16gb memorysick duo. It took 2 weeks to arrive!

Yeah I'm hoping mine is at home now, and I'm hoping someone was there to receive it:)

Got my hands on mine, I'm happy with it for €17. It's not an audiophile's dream, but it's neat. Needs a bit of ethanol or something though - bit grubby.

Edit: OK, getting a weird tinny noise during All I Need [Radiohead], not sure if it's a fault..

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,558 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dades

I believe mine's at home in the box waiting... :pac:

For €18 I only require the sound to fill my small kitchen!

Got mine today after only 5 working days after order. Doesn't go very high volume wise but that aside well worth the money. Thanks OP !

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

    Yeah, got mine too! :)

You're right it doesn't go too high volume wise, but I bought it mainly as an alarm clock so it's plenty loud enough for that.

    Very happy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

I'm thinking that €17 isn't too bad for the unit itself without any speakers, so I might try to tear these ones out..

I just wanna add that this doesn't work with an iPhone properly unless it is in airplane mode because it causes interference otherwise. Pretty nice apart from that.

Price seems to have gone up to £21. I may pick one of these up.

Received mine yesterday but I got a dud. No sound comes from the speakers from either the radio or ipod and the LCD screen is not viewable from any angle. Adjusting the brightness doesn't make any difference. I will need to return it :(
