Help with printers... Its driving me crazy!!!!

Using Leopard on a G5 iMac. Recently got a new printer from work, tis a Samsung laser multifunction. It prints... But it only prints small size files. If I try to print a file thats near or over 2mb all I get is a page with an error message about being out of memory.

So I decided to take one of the HP laserjets home from work. Did a test in work today, printed off a load of photos from a 10mp camera... No problems. Printed off a 37mb pdf, again no problems.. Have it on the mac, trying to print a 2mb jpeg and its saying its out of memory. What the hell is going on!!! Its driving me crazy...

I originally thought it was a problem with the samsung that may be driver related.. I figured the HP wouldn't have any problems tho, I can't understand whats wrong.. I've been using this printer in work for the last two years and its never given me any problems relating to memory..

BTW, the samsung has 128mb ram n the HP 64mb

have you the printer printer drivers that came with Leopard installed? ..... if not, put in your install cd and go to the extras and install from there.

Have them installed and updated and I've the HP drivers installed. Also updated the firmware... Tried printing from various software. Still the same..

    two thing i would suggest:

    1) make sure you have plenty of free HD space... you should try keep 15% - 20% of your total HD capacity free.

    2) boot off your install disk, go into Disk Utility and repair the permissions on the boot volume.

There's 60gb HD space free... Will try to repair the permissions. Its just plain weird... The PC I tested it on in work today had about 200mb of HD space left on it, has been up n running for around a year now and is full of junk n it printed without a hitch.

Its head wrecking.. If I can't sort it out I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. GF needs to print a load of stuff on a weekly basis.. Up until now I'd do it in work but I can't do that anymore...

Still not working... Brought the printer into my room, hooked it up to my dell. Vista picked it up n installed it n now its printing, not a bother... Arrrrggghhhhh!!!

Who wants to buy an iMac??
