Since anyone visiting this thread will obviously be a fan, could someone explain to me when the phrase "old school" got misspelt to refer to 90s music ?

Why isn't it simply "old school" ?

    Just wondering.....

Old skool just refers to stuff that isn't as popular as it was I reckon, not necessarily 90s. And it's reminded me of a completely off topic song but damn it's classic.

This would be considered old skool now.
