Use logmein quite a bit. No problems with it so far.

VNC or Remote Desktop are not very secure if you're planning on doing this over the internet (especially VNC), unless you tunnel through SSH or something funky, or through a VPN. They're grand within a LAN though. LogMeIn is secure, but requires going through other servers and stuff so can be slow, and the free version is somewhat limited.
