    Hi all,

Looking to pick up a reasonably priced 32" LCD. Will mostly be used for just watching TV. Any of you knowledgeable experts know if the Samsung 32" LCD-TV LE32A330 is any good? It's available for €407 at komplett.

I'm also looking at the LG 32" LCD-TV 32LG2000 and the Samsung 32" LCD-TV LE32A456. Any of these you would recommend?

    Cheers!

How about the Sony KDL 32W4000 Full HD,What Hi-Fi gave it their best buy rating in 32" sets,it's £600 with www.samsyerman.ie or £620 with www.richersounds.com.

Thanks for the suggestion, that Sony looks good. However I'm hoping to spend somewhere between €400-500, so the Sony is a bit beyond my current budget.

I got the 32" Samsung A456 a few weeks back (thank you St Stephen's Day sales!!) and I think it's a great TV.

The factory settings are crap though so you'll have to spend some time getting the balance right. I used the THX settings feature on a Star Wars DVD to change the settings and I found this worked great.

Also, there's no off button on the set, so if you want to turn it off, you have to go to the plug. Bit odd in this day and age of energy conservation .

Despite that though, I'm very happy with it. The picture and sound is great, even with standard terrestial TV and Blu Rays looks superb on it!

Thanks for the tips. I'll probably be mostly watching standard TV on it so that sounds good.

Out of interest, does the A456 have picture-in-picture? I haven't been able to find out online.

There's the Sony 32V4000... which although I have not seen it is supposed to be quite good.

Argos still have it for €499, and you may get it cheaper in other stores. My local Sony centre in Cork has it for 489 I think...

With the shipping cost that's pretty close to the samsung.

    Ix.

Not sure. I don't think so but I'll have a look in the manual when I get home. It does have something like this for teletext though, i.e. the screen can be evenly split between the TV signal and the teletext page.

I didnt even make the journey myself. I paid a courier €40 and they went up and got it and delivered to me. Saved myself a packet even after the fee. Might be worth considering saving yourself and few quid and hassle by going that route.
