    Hi everyone,

I was once told by a friend of mine (who is agnostic) that although I see myself as not being a Catholic, until I actually write to my local bishop, I will remain one in the churches eyes. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so could you further enlighten me?

    Welcome, Nymph.

What your friend said is probably true, but for more discussion please have a look at this post which links to many of the previous discussions here on the matter of leaving the church.

Feel free to join in any new discussions here, of course. :)
