Where can I buy... Appliance spare parts

I need to get two unusual parts:

    1. A new cutlery basket for my dishwasher. It is an Ariston, but the basket looks pretty standard. The old one has a few bit broken and some cutlery is falling through and stopping the "spinning water thingy"

    2. Knobs for oven. Again standard ones. My Elba oven suffered a bit of an impact (don't ask) and two of the knobs broke. I will probably be hard to find a perfect match, so I may buy a full eight piece set. I tried the Alba reps in Ireland and they are just impossible to deal with.

    Thanks for any ideas

Someone posted this link recently: http://www.appliancespartsdirect.com/index.html

I've never used them but you could give them a try.

Brilliant, thanks a million. They seem to have an impressive selection. Shopping time! :D
I'll post any comments if/when I buy from them.
    Cheers

I've bought replacement parts for a tumble dryer from them a couple of times.

No problems, last time I ordered on a Friday and had the part on Monday, (pity I had hoped to reduce my ESB bill by forcing the wife to use a clothesline for a change!!!)

BTW They're actually located in Clonmel Co Tipperary.

Thanks for your input Brightspark and Dizzyblond.
I looked at appliancespartsdirect.com and couldn't find the exact part for my oven. I eventually found them at another site (UK) www.partmaster.co.uk and ordered them. Got a shipment confirmation on Monday, so hoping to get them soon.

I picked up a cutlery basket and a roller for one of the shelves at our local recycling centre for free, you might pick up knobs for an oven as well.

    Actually, that's a brilliant idea!

Of course it is - reduce - reuse - recycle. Just make sure that any parts you do pick up are sterilised before you use them.

I found Quinn spares to be most helpful, they were cheaper than Appliance parts direct and answered the phone / returned messages . I was very dissapointed with the deterioration in appliance parts direct as I had used them a couple of years ago and found them good at the time. Not anymore .../www.quinnspares.ie/ I'd recommend these at the moment.

Well, seeing as 6 out of his 8 posts on boards are extolling the virtues of EzSpares, I suspect he might have a vested interest and know that already :)

    To be clear,

I have bought parts from Appliance Parts direct and also called into the shop (when I realised they were in Clonmel) and had no problem with the service etc. and I have recommended them in previous posts. (esp as they are in Ireland and even if it is only the owner that has employment, it's still one more person working in this country, paying tax and spending money!).

But I think it would significantly devalue the recommendations of boardsies if businesses start coming on here promoting themselves without being open about it. (No harm in letting us know you exist, just don't claim you're the best. As the saying goes "Self Praise is No Praise!"

Possibly, just like me, Darren Tobin didn't realise until he got his order that it had only travelled a few miles. (but then why say it was in Tipperary and not specify Clonmel?)

Cutlery baskets would be available to buy in any decent electrical retailer. And as another poster said, quinnspares are brilliant.
