Not sure how to propse this but would a sticky where people can post golf stuff they are looking to sell or swap be of interest to anyone?

Most golfers I know have loads of clubs they don't use anymore hidden away in a press or shed.

Also a fair few posters come on here who are just starting out, it might be a handy way for them to pick up some decent beginner clubs cheap.

thats really what adverts.ie is for. I'm fine with people linking in their sigs or even posting a new thread with a link as long as they don't bump them, but thats it.

I know where you are coming from Copacetic.
But it's difficult to sell golf stuff on adverts, at least if there was a thread here you would know that people who were into golf were getting to see what you had.

Other sports boards have similar threads (it's only one extra thread after all).
See the cycling and darts boards for example.

    Copacetic,

What if the Sticky was a thread with the following lets say:
Over on Adverts I have the following for Sale/Swap:

    Callaway Driver
    Set of Ping Irons

If you are interested please reply to ad here ----> www.adverts.ie/XXXXXXXX

Its hard to keep trawling through pages worht of stuff where as if we had a sticky and people kept it updated then you would know exactly what was there and exactly what was swapped.

Just a bit of input from me on this tho as I'm fairly happy with adverts at the moment. ;)

I think it's a good idea personally. Obviously the Mods could keep a good eye on it to ensure there's no spamming. But when you have something you want rid of or want to buy, it might be nice to offer first refusal to the lads n lassies of the Golf Forum whom you have the bit of banter with day in day out...

Aswell as that we could expand it to Loan books/mags to each other possibly.

That's a very good idea. I always feel bad throwing out golf magazines after one read. Perhaps a swap shop mailing list whereby, those interested buy a set mag each month and then once you've read it, you post it on to someone else and vice versa.

I've a 54 degree Vokey wedge at home. Not spin milled, but in good condition if anyone is interested. I'd need to check bounce etc when i get home.

Grip will possibly need changed before long but is still reasonable. Also the trolley listed below i'm keen to get rid of...

+1. As long as there is no obvious spamming.

what about having it as a sub forum

that's adverts job tbh. I've always encouraged good quality gear be mentioned on the cycling forum, with a view to having the deal done on adverts- it's a headache for the mods that they don't need.

But seeing as I'm in the market for a 3 wood, and I hadn't seen Kagni's ad until now, there may be some use for it!

Seems like a good idea once the dealing and questions etc are played out on adverts rather than on here. Maybe PM's for 'wanted' stuff is ok? Certainly linking to your stuff on adverts seems to be the best way and once it's not bumped and spammed it would be nice to have it.
Will look at the cycling one when I get the chance and see how it works there.
