Redundancy delayed?

    Hello everyone:
I'll go straight to the facts:

I have worked from Nov 2006 to Dec 2008 in the same company, just over 2 years. When I was made redundant the application for the redundancy payment was sent by the company to the government, that was around December 15, as today, January 14 I haven't heard of them.My questions are:

-Its this the normal way to do it?(send the form and wait)

-Shouldn't pay me from their pocket and claim a refund later?

    -Does it takes this long?

I call the company a few days ago and I was told that they haven't receive anything yet.

I will like to call them again this weekend, but before I like to have a better knowledge about how this works.

    thanks you all

    Paul

People I know got their redundancy with thier final pay. It's then up to the company to reclaim 60% from the social insurance fund.

I can't say if that is the case with all situations though.

Some good info on it at http://www.redundancy.ie/
Have a read and see if it's helpful.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
