ASsociation/Organisation Setup?

    Can anyone tell me how you setup/register an association or organisation, or is it even possible?

    Depends on what type of organisation / association you were thinking of.

    If you want to set it up properly as a limited company, you're probably looking at registering a company limited by guarantee. This is the type of vehicle used for organisations /not for profit / associations / sporting club type companies.

    As thecleverone says, it does depend on the type of association or organisation.

    A good starting point for any type of association/organisation is to draw up a governing document. The type of document you choose (constitution or rules, articles of association and memorandum, deed of trust) will very much depend on the type of organisation you are establishing.

    I think you will have to be a bit more specific for people to be able to give you more useful advice.

    Does anyone know what is involved in setting up a Group which would have a bank account, board of members etc? Do you have to register it as a company or organisation with Revenue? Eg. If we wanted to start a fishing club or fish appreciation society with members paying membership fees etc. Do you have to register with Revenue and have a bank account in the group's name? Is it basically the same kind of process as setting up a company except it's called a group or club instead of a company?
