I went into Dublin and had a walk from the wooden bridge in Dollymount to the Statue at the end of the walkway. Heres a few shots from the area. C&C always welcome, nothing much done to the shots just converted from RAW with auto levels but no sharpening on most of them as they didnt need it.

1: this one is for Janer, non smooth water!! :) The waves were coming in into the wind and the top spray was blowing backwards

2: Cargo Vessel arrives, spot metered and waited for it to hit the hottest part of the water then shot.

3: just on the edge of the salt marsh a small weed, shot @ f2.8

4: I can only assume they refer to feet from shore?

    All great images.

Love No 2 but the clouds look dodgy. I know you spot metered on the vessel so maybe thats why.

The leading edge of the wave was blown back on itself and I think the spray is causing the grain. Such a good amount of shots for such a small place, it does make me miss living in Dublin..

Thanks Fionn, Janer. Thimblefull, I reckon it was the spot metering that threw the clouds off, thanks

Simple picts, but they look wonderful. The simple things in life - sun, wind, water, can all make such great images when captured properly. I really love the weed/grass image.

    Love number 1.

Was down there on Sunday afternoon; despite the godawful weather. Was sorry I didn't have a camera with me.

I was thinking about what you were saying about Portmarnock in one of the other threads and that coupled with being behind the waves coming in led to that shot... :)
