    Just wondering what anyone thinks of Elan?

    1.2billion in debt and no plans for phaze 3 of their new drug.

    There was a word they would be bought how would this affect their share price? I bought in at 5.50 they went up to 7 today on the news but now floating around the 6 mark.

    I would have sold at 7.00 today if i had bought at 5.50 and been happy with the profit, elan is a real rollercoster of a stock and its future depends a lot on one drug.

    While I have you on the subject if you don't mind what's CGT limit? I bought 15,000Euro worth of Elan shares at 5.50 and always thought if I didn't make more than 10,000 (profit) I don't have to pay VAT?

    I agree about the one drug but I honestly believe in it.

    Hello Allah Hu Akbar, The first 1,270 euros of profit is exempt cgt thereafter 22% cgt applies on profits, vat is only payable on 35k plus earnings, all this could change with any mini budget etc, what other stocks are you trading.
