    i have a pty flash drive, a gp2x player,
    how can i transfer dvds to the flash drive so as i can view them on the gp2x,
    it playes,
    mpg4 divx and xvid
    avi file format
    video up to 720x480 pixels and supports captions
    the above is double dutch to me, as i am a complete idiot in these matters,
    thanks for your time and help, and if possible keep it simple for me to understand.

    You'd need to convert the dvd's into divx or avi files using a pc, transfer them onto the flash drive and then play them on the gp2x. This is not necessarily a straightforward process if you're not familiar with the process, I'm saying this in the context of your own statement "the above is double dutch to me, as i am a complete idiot in these matters".

    If you are so unfamiliar with the terminology, what's the incentive to do this, is it for yourself or for someone else ?

    Converting dvd's into .avi or Divx files is very time consuming (measured in hours per dvd) and can also be quite complicated unless you're familiar with using types of programs involved.

    I'd suggest as an alternative that you could either download movies from iTunes and try them on the gp2x or you could get a fairly cheap portable dvd player and bring a load of dvds with you in a travelling case, leaving the dvd boxes behind.
