Im going on a cheap trip down to spain shortly and hope to play a few games of golf down there.

I hav'nt played down here before so just wondering does anyone know of good value courses/deals/packages near puerto banus/marbella.

Il have a rental car so driving a bit isnt a problem.

    Thanks.

Played there in October - 3 courses - all excellent
    1. Monte Mayor
    2. Tarracabrada
    3. Mijas

I think they all have their own websites.

I have played there a few years ago, found some courses expensive.

El Chaparral Golf was my favourite course there. Loveley course, beautiful fast greens, and the views from some holes were amazing. Its a tight course with lots of tall trees on either side of the fairways, you need to be straigh off the tee. Its also quite hilly.

When you get down there, get one of the local free papers and check the ads - there are a few operators that have tee times booked at different courses and they run singles competitions - prices are normally a lot cheaper than booking the courses direct!

One of my favourite courses is Santana - it is near La Cala and owned by two Irish men.

Im just back from a spanish golfing trip on the Costa del Sol. We played El Chaperal, La Cala, Santa Clara and Monte Mayor. All were super but Monte Mayor was my favourite, super course, tight tee shots and some excellent views of the countryside. We booked online and got a great deal from
