Which Laptop?

I am looking for a fairly basic new laptop. Any suggestions for a reliable and cheap one?

Budget: Max €400 (incl VAT) and I'd prefer to buy in Ireland

Intended use: Fairly basic use. It will be used primarily for MS Office documents presentations and internet access. It will also be used to play music and the odd video/DVD.

Mobility: It needs to be mobile, but not tiny. Not a 10" screen and not a 17" screen either. Say a 14" or 15" screen.

Warranty: Basic manufacturer's warranty is fine.

When I say max budget €400, what I mean is that I am hoping someone here can point me to a decent laptop that beats that price by a good bit.

I already know that Dell do an Inspiron 1525 for €460. Does anyone know of a decent but basic laptop cheaper than that?

For €400 you're looking at a cheap Dell, the Lenovo that's mentioned currently on Bargain Alerts as available from dabs.ie or laptopsdirect or
    a netbook.

That's what I reckoned. Thanks. If anyone knows different, please let me know.

+1 for the Lenovo...essentially an IBM laptop which an excellent reputation.

You will find that all top multinationals use Lenovo laptops, Coca Cola, pfizer etc and there is a reason for it..
