Liverpool hotel or apartment

Looking for a cheap/good hotel or apartment for 3 nights around middle of march. Any ideas on good websites to look at, so far prices are £280 for double room, or £400-500 for apartment. Two couples going, so not sure which would be best

we stayed in the travelodge a few times,,it only 5 mins walk from city centre,,was quite cheap and cheerful,,they have 2 there,,but didnt stay in the one by the docs,,,
