I hereby think that to promote the sport of boxing, a channel dedicated to the greatest sport on earth should be created. I know there is a lot of legal issues to get round regarding rights etc but if there can be a golf channel there can be a boxing channel! It can feature weekly highlights, anniversary interviews, studio debate, phone-ins etc. The channel may have the power to actually create the fights that the fans want, should it be successful.

It doesn't have to be the greatest looking production but it could ending up being the very thing that gets the sport talked about again.

If you believe in this cause and think that there should be a boxing channel then please, please sign it. If enough interest is drummed up it can happen.

    Shaun Brown Sincerely,

Don't see how creating a petition is going to get this done.

It's a simple economic matter of supply and demand. Fight Network tried and failed and I don't see any other broadcaster willing to risk it especially with the world economy the way it is at the moment. Trust me if somebody thought they could make money out of it they'd be doing it already.

Anyway between Sky, Setanta, Eurosport, ITV we're not exactly lacking boxing coverage at the moment. Although on the home front TV3 seem to have shelved their interest again for the time being and RTE certainly aren't showing boxing as regularly as they were in the first half of last year.

agreed. Fight Network failed :( despite also showing the UFC pish!

I'm pretty happy with the level of coverage at the moment but yeah I would like to see more boxing on terrestrial tv.

Are RTE showing the IABA finals?

Yeah where did the fight network go? nuts tv is gone as well. didnt watch it that often though.

If it was a good channel it would do well. I agree with more boxing on terrestrial tv. Just basic channels like rte and itv1 and eurosport for those without digital. I got to see very littel till we swicthed over to sky.
