Blurry Screen on new monitor

i recently got a new 26inch monitor specifically so i could play more poker tables at the one time. My problem is when i make the poker tables small, the cards and the players names become fairly blurred,On my laptop which has a 17inch screen i split the screen in 4 and have no problems. Seen as the new monitor is way bigger i was hoping to be able to fit way more tables on it. With 4 tables the screen on the new monitor is perfect but when i try to fit in 6 or more it becomes blurred even though these tables would be bigger in size than the ones on my laptop..
The resolution of the laptop and the monitor are the same. Is there a reason why it gets blurred like this. I am even thinking of going out and buying another monitor but then the same problem may arise with that. when buying a monitor is there some sort of specification i should be looking for to prevent this. Cheers for any input

Are you running the new monitor in its native resolution? If the 26" is replacing something smaller and running at the same resolution as the old monitor it will look rubbish.

    both have native resolution 1920 x 1200

If both monitors are running at the same resolution things will only look a bit bigger but it won't display any more info.

Increase the 16" display to get the most out of it.
