    Hi,
I got some of those storage hooks you srew into the ceiling for my bike.
I'm just wondering if these will hold anywhere in the ceiling of a newly built house, or will I need to find some sort of beam to screw it into. It needs to hold up a light specialized road bike.
    Cheers

Wouldn't recommend screwing any load bearing device directly into horizontal plasterboard. If you tap around to find a joist or use a joist finding gadget, screw straight into that and you can have confidence it'll be grand.

Screwing directly into horizontal plasterboard wouldn't be wise as though it would probably hold the weight of the bike you may get a few more popped nails/screws than normal elsewhere in the ceiling.

Is screwing them to the wall an option?

screwing it into something solid is the onlyway. otherwise more work for you in the future...

No there isn't really anywhere on the wall I could stick it.
I'll have a look see if I can find a joist.
    Thanks for yer help folks

You could always consider a Topeak Dual Touch stand

    Wiggle has it here http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Topeak_Dual_Touch_Bike_Stand/5360006679/

Mine supports a MTB and road bike and all without having to screw anything into a wall or ceiling - would recommend
