UPS Q's - KV vs W

    Hi there,

We have had some power issues here in the past so we are going to get a UPS to protect a few items such as the server etc.

Perhaps I am reading into things a little too much but I cant quite get my head around the difference between KV and W. I have read that it is due to the PF which typically is about 0.6.

    I am looking at
this but the run time is quite short

or this which is not as powerful but has a much longer runtime

To try relate this to my problem. I am trying to do the calculations to decide on a UPS.
So far I have assumed that VA and W are the same and I have read the labels and multiplied V by A for every device apart from server which uses a 420W PSU. The total I get is about 900.

Perhaps someone can clear this up a little for me.
